About the hand centre

Professor Frank Burke leads the Research Team within the Department.  Prof Burke works Melanie Arundell, who is the Research & Postgraduate Managers.  She is supported by  Audrey Parks and Stefania Wigelsworth, Research & Postgraduate Secretaries.  The current research registrar is Mark Swindells and we have 3 therapists actively involved in research projects : Victoria Jansen , Nicola Hands and Emma Walker.  The Pulvertaft Hand Centre has worked on a collaborative project with the Curtis Hand Centre in Baltimore and is currently working with both the Curtis Hand Centre in Baltimore and the University of Michigan on a project involving rheumatoid disease.

Tommy Lindau is collaborating with the University of Manchester on a project looking into the genetics of Dupuytrens disease.  For more information about this study, please go to the Patient Information section.

Acute Fractures of the Scaphoid
